SBN Support Programme organised a half day training for 10 data gatherers and six staff members on how to collect data using Akvo Flow software on tablets on the 5th of November 2015.
The objective of this training was to improve the data collection for monitoring and evaluation through the use of more advanced technologies.
This training was partly an extension of the training which was given to 75 farmers on sending SMS (Short Message System) in June 2015. After taking the training, the Sesame Business Cluster (SBC) coaches will gather data from the 75 farmers, who have been sending text messages about their farm activities using their cellphones. The other 10 trainees will gather data from 700 farmers, which will be used for the evaluation of the first phase of the SBN Support Programme.
Mr. Gizaw Legesse, from Agri Pro Focus Ethiopia, is the resource person for the training.
