ToT programme on improved sesame technologies held in western Tigray

Sesame Business Network support programme in collaboration with Western Tigray Zone Administration office organised a “training of trainers” programme for Kafta Humera and May-gaba clusters.

The training in Kafta Humera woreda was held from 08-09/07/2013 while in May-gaba in 10-11/07/2013.

The main objective of the trainings was to develop the knowledge and skill of woreda experts and development agents on improved sesame technologies, weeding time, type and fertiliser application technologies, integrated pest management practice and post-harvest loss management.

A total number of 258 participants drawn from Tigray Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), Zone Agricalture office, Kafta Humera, Tsegedea and Welkayt woredas participated in the two trainings.

The trainings were organised by the request of Zonal administration of Western Tigray and Kafta Humera Woreda offices.

Dr Geremew Terefe SBN support programme national coordinator, Mizan Amare, TARI crop research director, Muez Berhe Sesame Business Cluster (SBC) coach coordinator Humera/Tigray, Kahsu Kellali SBC agronomist in Humera were the resource persons during the training.
